Still part of celebrating 15 years of Baguio City’s Panagbenga is a parade last February 13, 2010, 3:30 in the afternoon, to officially welcome the year of the Tiger and for the celebration of the Chinese New Year.

Dragons dancing in streets, Mascots waving to kids, political vehicle with campaign materials, marching bands, street dancers, were just some of the main attractions of the parade. People were happily waiting for give aways from participants like coupons, calendars and food like candies, chocolates, biscuits, junk foods, etc.

Thanks to them who maintain the streets clean after the parade.

After the last person of the parade faded, people also started going elsewhere, maybe going home, leaving all their wastes in the street. Lower session road was like a trash place. But after 5 minutes all the plastics and other garbages, from the participants and audiences, vanished like they were all taken by a hurricane.

Thanks to the group of people wearing yellow shirts, holding dust pan, trash cans and other cleaning materials. Thumbs up to our volunteers who cleared the parade area as soon as it ended.

Maybe next time, people who will attend and watch the coming grand street parade and grand float parade  on February 27 and 28 respectively, will help by learning to put their wastes on proper places.#Dhonalyn Agorilla
